Yup, that's right. I was hit by a car yesterday while crossing an intersection.
Don't worry, I'm not seriously injured, but it was an interesting experience.
I don't really remember the initial impact; one second I was walking across the road and the next I was on the ground and people were rushing at me. The first guy was (I think) a teacher or school nurse, he had some medical background of some sort. He stoped me when I tried to get up and told me to lie down and wait for the ambulance. Yeah I got to ride in an ambulance.
The police arrive first and got statements and made sure that I seemed ok, asked me my name and what day it was or weather I hat my head. Then the medics arrived in the ambulance and gave me a quick check over. The put me in a neck brace and put me on a stretcher and then finally in the ambulance to be taken to the hospital to be better examined.
It was a pretty uncomfortable ride; they had to strap me, and specifically, my head down so I couldn't move and my jacket kept getting in the way of taking my blood pressure (I was so scared they'd have to cut it of!) and they had to give me an injection so I wouldn't get nauseas for the movement. Is especially hurt when we were going down hill, ow! Lot's of pressure in the head.
It didn't help that hallway there I started needing to go to the toilet, which honestly hurt more than getting hit did.
When we finally got to the hospital I was taken to a room put in a nice comfy bed. Then the doctors asked more questions, felt around my neck, back, and injured knee (big-ass bruise now), and asked more questions. Eventually, I was given cleared to go to the toilet. More tests on my knee (bending it and such), and then I got to go home.
I was lucky but I'm very stiff and sore. The arm that I must have landed on is killing me and my other arm is just very weak.
I'll be going to the local doctors soon for a follow up and see how long I'll need to take off, but I'm fairly sure that I'm fine and will recover quickly.
On the plus side I have an job interview tomorrow, lol.
